Do you need a consent?
The Building Act 2004, has an exemption that covers the construction of small buildings such as garden sheds, cabins or sleepouts that are of less than 10m2 from the requirement for a building consent provided that some conditions are met.
Please read the guidance and make sure that that installing a cabin at your property will fall within the conditions of exemption 3.
